A'Kiyia has installed dread extensions in my hair twice (yarn and synthetic hair), and she always does an amazing job! She's very professional, friendly, and welcoming. I have never been able to cornrow. I have tried learning from others and by using Youtube tutorials. I finally found A'Kiyia's website and was able to book a cornrow braiding class. She was extremely patient and extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. After a 2 hour session, I now feel confident and can finally do my daughter's hair in different styles :). Thank you A'Kiyia!

A'Kiyia, is very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I came to her asking for Senegalese twist. She immediately told me she would need to do crocheted twist. I have had a lot of breakage and my hair is short right now so she wanted to make sure I got a style that would help my hair grow. I love my twist and I am glad that she was straight forward with me and made it work! She also suggested products to use and referred me to great videos on how to maintain the style. I am enjoying my crochet kinky twists. A'Kiyia is very knowledgeable, she immediately noticed I had some breakage that I didn't know about. I have been getting my hair braided for over 20 years now and never have I had someone bless me in more ways than one then A'kiya. When someone tells you that they can't braid your hair unless it's in a certain condition so that she won't cause more damage by braiding it, you know this woman's heart is not about money but about truly taking care of you and your hair to see healthy benefits! She has a beautiful customer service spirit that is warm and inviting, and her educational knowledge of her passion as a hair artist makes you feel as though you are not just getting your hair "done", but you are on a journey of giving your hair a "New Life"!!! First time client for my teen daughter based on a high recommendation. A'kiyia took our appointment in the evening on a weekday so that we wouldn't have to miss a school day. There was a good vibe/energy as we began to go over options. Needless to say she did a fantastic job. I went to A'Kiyia to get yarn braids. At first I was skeptical due to the fact that finding someone to do yarn braids in my area was hard. However, I love the finished product! Excellent work!!! I got my daughter's hair done and she loves it!!! I got the crochet weave to try something different other than braids due to being a working mom and not having the time to do my daughter's hair. We drove over and hour and let me tell you, it was worth it!!! I will come back again! Very professional and the wait time was responsible!!! My daughter also commented that hair braids underneath were not tight. Excellent Work!!!

A'Kiyia did an amazing job with my hair. She paid attention to detail and my edges. The last stylist who did twist in my hair damaged my edges really badly, so I was looking for someone who cares about their clients hair and not just the money. My hair looks and feels great. I have gotten so many compliments on the twist. I will definitely go back. I recently got my hair twisted (Senegalese twist) by A'Kiyia and I absolutely love it! She is officially my hair braider and I refuse to allow anyone else braid/twist my hair. A'kiyia truly takes her time and cares about the health of your hair (She does not pull your edges tight like most braiders.) If you are looking for a braider in the Atlanta area you should check her out. She is such a sweet person and I will definitely recommend her services to others.

Akiyia recently did my fluffy twists and she did a great job. I have wanted twists for a while but was nervous after dealing with the African braid shops my edges have thinned out. Akiyia did an afro crochet weave with cornrows at the front. I was very pleased with her professionalism, service and workmanship. 1.Professionalism: She returned my initial call in a timely manner. She communicated very clearly regarding the day and time of my appointment. She even called the day before to confirm. 2.Service. Akiyia really exceeded my expectations. She was gentle with my hair, used quality products and made me feel like I had her undivided attention. She even followed up the day after my appointment to make sure I was not having any issues with the hair. 3.Workmanship: All I can say is wow! Its not often that you find a stylist that exceeds in all three areas, but Akiyia does. Most people thought it was my hair. When a stylist can do your hair so well that others can't tell the difference, that's the pinnacle of excellence. I have no problem recommending her-the work she does speak for itself!

I wanted to share my wonderful experience after getting my first weave ever. I got a crochet weave using Freetress Water Wave. I actually have to tell people it is a weave b/c everyone automatically thinks it is my hair. Some credit to the hair I chose to use, of course, but it looks so good b/c of the wonderful job done with installation by A'Kiyia. She is professional and personable. Her home is immaculate and how she has her work area set up is very nice. She followed up with me the next day to see how my hair was and gave very detailed instructions on how to take care of the hair and my scalp. I will definitely be going back again! A'Kiyia did my daughter's braids and this was the first time for us. It was a good experience. She was professional, friendly, on-time and everything was set up and ready to go when we arrived. She was flexible and allowed us to schedule two evening appointments so my daughter wouldn't have to sit for so long. She even provided information on how to take of the braids. A'Kiyia is truly a talented and professional natural hair stylist and she will definitely be my new stylist! I love my Nubian Twist they are so gorgeous! One of the things I like most is that she really cares about the condition of your hair first and will provide you with other options if needed. Also, I loved that she conditioned my hair with natural hair products that smelled really good, continuously the entire time I was sitting there in the chair! A'Kiyia puts her best foot forward and you can obviously tell that she cares about how her work looks and not just the income she receives! After having a HORRIFYING hair experience from Craigslist, I found A.kiyia and she came to my rescue. Not only, was she able to reuse the hair the girl MESSED UP, but she left me with three bags of hair left to return to the beauty supply store. My three year quest to find a natural stylist has come to an end, now that I've found A'kiyia. I've lived in GA for only 3 years but been to many shops in GA & never really satisfied with any of them. I read about A'kiyia when she was featured in thirstyroots.com. That article made me investigate even further & I truly could said she care about taking care of natural hair. And a few years later i was fortunate enough to live not too far from her & I was able to make an appointment. I'm so happy that I did. My hair looks beautiful, her prices were in my budget,enjoyed our conversation, I was given tips about my hair, and it was a very good experience. I will be referring my friends to her & I'll be returning !!!!

Wonderful experience having A'kiyia putting in my crochet weave. She is very professional , pleasant and knowledge about her craft. A'kiyia listened to me as how I want my crochet weave put in and made sure before I left it was how I wanted it to look. My husband was so pleased with my hair, he asked if she could do his hair. LOL! There will be no more african braiding shops for me. A'kiyia will be doing my protective styles from now on. Thank you A'kiyia!

I went to A'Kiyia to get my hair styled for a wedding. From the moment I walked in she was very professional and extremely nice! She is very knowledgeable of natural hair and products. I learned so much and my hair has never felt so soft. She did twists in my hair that complimented me very well! It was perfect for the wedding and also will last long to help make my busy daily schedule easier. I would recommend her to any natural because I really felt safe and comfortable with her doing my hair (I'm usually nervous about that). I will be making future appointments for sure!

I found A'Kiyia on Utube?..looking for something to do with my transitioning hair. I must say that she is AWESOME. I have had some baaad experiences but she made me very comfortable. She is an hour away and it was worth the drive. I am very tender headed and it did not hurt at all?.not even the back of my hair which is verrrry short. It's been two weeks and those have not come out yet. She tells you what's going on with your hair, how to take care of it, and gives you pointers on what you can do with it in the future?.who does all of that. I have the Nubian twist and the compliments just keep coming. I WILL continue to go back again and again. Thanks so much?you are the best!!

I found A'kiyia through a google search after I got extremely fed up with my super THICK uncooperative natural hair. She was able to manipulate my hair in ways I didn't even know was possible! She is so pleasant and have such a warm and welcoming personality. I absolutely love my fro hawk and have gotten so many compliments on my hair. I recently went to A'Kiyia to try something that gave me the look of having locks without actually getting locks and she helped me in every way possible to give me the look I desired. I love the yarn braids that she gave me and I am looking forward to coming back as well as telling as many as I can about her. She's a great stylist along with just being a beautiful human. And in a few months will go back to her. :)

I had an emergency with my weave and she took me right away and gave great advice about what I needed to have done with the tracks next time. She cares about the natural hair and the client and is very willing to work with the clients. She's also friendly and welcoming and makes the entire process of being her customer a joy. Definitely will go to her for all my weave needs!!

Soo, my vision was to do a fro-hawk with my natural hair and I wanted to get some regular side braids done for that. I had sent Akiyia a photo of what I wanted and when I got there, she told me she was going to freestyle a little. I was a little nervous at first, but y'all, my hair is on FIYAHHH lol. I love it. The braids are edgy, my frohawk looks legit, I just love it. It didn't hurt one bit and it was within my college budget :) Thanks girl

Hi A'kiyah(love the name). My name is Deborah and I just watched your YouTube video about the Nubian Twists. I loved your hair. When I first went natural my hair was about the length of yours which was almost 3 years ago. Now it is about 3x's the length of yours. This is my problem. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT NOW.!!LOL! I love wearing my hair natural(saves money), but it doesnt look as nice as when it is shorter. Any ideas for long thick hair?

Hello Akiya - I have enjoyed watching your videos as of yesterday your very informative. I I viewed your videos on the E-ON nubian twist. your hair came out wonderful! Tell me is there a differance in using the afro kiny twist hair for braiding and the E-ON nubi nubi you mentioned? Wish I was closer to the GA area I'd have you do my hair.
